Judo and Sambo legend, Steve Scott, and author of the book, Winning on the Mat, is flying out to Phoenix from the well-known Judo dojo, Welcome Mat Judo, in Kansas City Missouri to put on this first time in Arizona event.
We invite you to investigate Freestyle Judo by visiting their website, www.freestylejudo.org, and also the Amateur Athletic Unions website, www.aaujudo.org. The rules and other information can be found there.
On Saturday, April 21st, Phoenix College Judo is partnering with two other Judo clubs, Buckeye Judo and the Phoenix Grappling Center to host the Sonoran Classic Judo Tournament, sanctioned by the USJA. It will be an Olympic rules Judo tournament, but we will be doing a Freestyle Judo demonstration and scrimmage to let competitors try out the new rule format.

I met some of the students from the Phoenix College
Judo team, and they ask me to come and train with them, when we met at the AZBJJ Tournment, that I was competing in. They told me that they train, tuesday, thursday and Friday, I’m just not sure of times,
if you could help me, that would be great..
Thanks Jake Ryan
