A Bit More Fit

For decades now there has been new technology introduced to help people get on track with their diet and exercise. In recent years, however, there’s been apps to download on your phone and a plethora of wristbands for purchase that will track your every step. And while all of these can be great motivators, some miss the mark entirely by being way overpriced (i.e Nike Fuel band for $269.99) or not completely accurate (i.e Map My Run is fine but sometimes freezes and doesn’t track your run properly).

And that’s why I was so happy to find the FitBit. It’s a top of the line activity AND sleep/heart rate tracker (depending on which version you buy) that collects data on you throughout the day and night. It syncs up to you personally by asking you to input your weight, height, and age, so that it can accurately calculate the calories YOU burn throughout the day. And that’s what I love about it! It doesn’t give you some general number of how many calories you burn if you walk/run 2 miles, but rather a specific number based on your physiology.

It’s lightweight on your wrist, comes in sizes ranging from small to extra-large, and bonus, it comes in bright colors too (I got purple!).

It’s been such a motivator for me to be more active each and every day. If say I’ve only taken 8,500 steps for the day (by the way the daily goal is 10,000) then I’ll get up and go out for a walk or a jog until I feel that awesome buzzing on my wrist telling me I reached my step quota!4061407

I’ve had my FitBit for over two weeks now and I absolutely LOVE it! It was such a great buy and I don’t regret for a second getting it for myself. It tracks all of my activities from going on walks in the morning with my two daughters and mom all the way to my grueling Muay Thai classes at night! And it just pushes me to do more; be MORE active. I’m now on a mission to see how many more steps I can take than the day before and if I can beat my calorie burn as well.

So if you’re in the market for an activity tracker or really just looking for some motivation to get up and get active, I wholeheartedly recommend the FitBit. The price range for the FitBit (like I said there are several different styles) range from $49.99-$249.99. I know I know…the most expensive one is just….OUCH! But it’s not the one I’m endorsing. The one I purchased for myself was the FitBit Charge HR, which retails for $149.99. It’s specifically designed for people with a very active lifestyle as opposed to the more inexpensive designs that are made for a less active one.  fitbit-logo
